Shawn, I'm enjoying these poetic reflections, they seem just right for the season you and Maile find yourselves in. Thank you for offering us a glimpse.
One day soon I’ll come downstairs to find the fireplace cleaned out and all the tools wrapped up and ready to be put in the attic. That’s when I knew fire season is over. When my wife decides it is. Then I have to move it outside.
Thank you for demonstrating to us that hope in itself is a beautiful thing--something to be savored. It will be gratifying, I think, to watch those hope-seeds grow!
"not-yet-sent-to-bed children" 😍

They're everywhere! :)
“a kind of hope whose fruit we do not know because we didn’t plant the seeds.” - beautiful!
Thanks, Jayna!

Thanks, Jody. It's been fun to switch it up a bit.
this is gorgeous - have you submitted it anywhere?
Thanks, Claire! No, I haven't.
I have a fire going this morning, and a window open. :)
Yeah, since we just got our wood stove, I'm pretty reluctant to stop now!

Beautiful thoughts, eloquently expressed. May your patient waiting yield just what you need. Thank you always for writing, Shawn.
