I’m currently reading Even After Everything as well. So good! Her writing reminds me of Madeleine L'Engle, one of my favorites.

Honored to be in the same sentence with Madeleine!

You deserve it! And I’ve never said that about any other writer. I love her non-fiction and I’m so glad to have found a writer (YOU!) that writes in the same vein. Keep ‘em coming. ;)

Beautiful words. As I live in a waiting season, I am comforted by His peace. He too meets me in the stillness of the winter ponds.

Sometimes it's difficult to avail ourselves of God's peace (indeed SHALOM with all its beautiful facets) in some seasons of life. But every effort to try is worth it. Peace IS the power that carries us through the dark valleys. Jesus is our peace (Ephesians 2:14).

We are always in a place of learning new things about ourselves because we change over time in small and sometimes big ways. Like it or not. My husband and I have learned we have to figure this out and share the change with each other. Example: I used to eat cashews as a daily snack. Then for whatever reason I stopped but Mike kept buying new bags at Costco. I saw them stacking up in the pantry and realized he didn't know I had stopped that daily snack. Hopefully we never stop noticing and finding something to appreciate in nature.
