I love this so much. I’m always soundtracking my life, and have been for as long as I can remember... we have similar taste in music, so I hope these suggestions land--but even if not, I’ll share them just the same. Cedar Tree by Indigo Girls came to mind immediately...I Don’t Ever Give Up by Patty Griffin, Recovering the Satellites, Counting Crows, Leave The City by Twenty One Pilots, When I Go Down by Reliant K, Prodigal by One Republic, So Long So Long, Dashboard Confessional, Don’t Look Back In Anger by Oasis,...I’m sure I will think of more 😏 Praying for you as you write!
I’m on a huge boygenius kick right now (new EP drop today - squee!). Anyway, I think their song Anti-Curse kind of fits those themes. And Graceland Too by Phoebe Bridgers (1/3 of boygenius and joined by the other 2, so it’s kind of a boygenius song) could be stretched into those themes (though that’s a little more of a stretch).
Regardless of whether any of these songs make the playlist, they are very much your vibe and you will definitely enjoy them.
It's Preetam here with a few names to contribute to your playlist. You were one of a couple folks to introduce me to the incredible talent that Andrew Peterson is and, really there are so many songs from his catalog that would be appropriate. The same would be true of the beautiful output by Charlie Peacock and Jason Upton. Rich Mullins, "Let Mercy Lead" and "Holding Back the Years" by Simply Red also come to mind. Enjoy your process.
I believe we have similar tastes in music so I’m not sure how much of this, if any, will he new to you, but maybe the context will help. I started out giving you a little note on each one and then it got out of control. I’m also not going to go find a link for each. Maybe just pick out the ones you don’t already know and go find those. Finally, I was having major deja vu while doing this because I’m pretty sure we did this once before and I feel like I’m making a lot of the same list. If I’ve repeated myself, at least I’m consistent.
