On realizing you have major changes to make...
What do we do as novelists when we are halfway through writing a first draft and we realize we got a character wrong? Or we've written a handful of scenes that we aren't going to use, or that need to be rewritten? What, in other words, do we do when we realize we have gotten it wrong in the first draft?
Today in the video below I'm talking about those questions, along with the more philosophical one: how does our work writing novels compete with things like YouTube, video games, and movies? (Hint: it doesn't.)
