When the story goes off in its own direction...

George Saunders talks about the importance of following a story, allowing life into it, and not letting your planning self take over. Do you take note cards on a date to remind you when to ask certain questions or say certain things? Probably not. Writing a story should be just as spontaneous and natural.

In today’s video below, I'm also talking about how I'm handling the revelation that there is more to this story than I first imagined. Which means a lot more work.
