Today we're talking more about the three-act structure and what I'm trying to do in moving my story from act one to act two. Many of my thoughts on this come from James Scott Bell's book, Plot and Structure (highly recommended if you're looking to do a deep dive on structure).
The important thing to remember is that the protagonist needs to go through a gateway from act one to act two, and that gateway should in some way be them making a decision or being forced into a situation from which they cannot turn back.
So, I'm thinking about how to do this in my current story, what to introduce, and how to bring my characters through this kind of a situation. Fun times!
