Some Thoughts on Using Escalation within Repetition

This morning we're talking about the importance of escalation as mentioned in George Saunders' book on writing, A Swim in the Pond in the Rain. Every instance of repetition within the manuscript is actually an opportunity for the writer to escalate tension, so I talk a little bit about that and how I'm using this concept in my current manuscript.
