Six Weeks Away from the Socials...and the Four Books I Read in February
Social media has left me with a strange inheritance. On the one side, it gave me years of distraction and thousands of hours I wish I had back. Endless scrolling and jealousy and disappointment with how other people believed and interacted with the world.
On the other side, though, are the connections with people I never would have met and dear friendships that have lasted nearly fifteen years. The second part of that equation couldn’t be more apparent than in the four days Maile and I spent in Kentucky last week with some of my favorite writers on the planet, most of whom are people I probably would not have met if not for blogging and social media.
Which leads me to perhaps my biggest question about this break from the socials:
