We sit at a crossroads in life waiting…for what? For answers? For peace? For hope realized? For that next phase of life? It’s so easy to want out of the in-between times, to rush through, to distract ourselves from the waiting until that thing we want is finally in the here-and-now.
But there’s so much to be learned and seen and uncovered in these long times of waiting. And to be waiting during Lent? How appropriate.
So, together we wait for spring, we wait for peace, we wait and hope for good things just around the corner. But somehow, we remain here, now, taking in what we can during these times.
Here are a few things for you to enjoy this weekend:
“I don’t care how old you are. Do something beautiful.” I’ve been obsessed with this guy for a little while now and have been watching all the videos I can find with him talking about writing. (And, trust me, there are quite a few.)
“Then, when Michael passed away and everything became even more painful, I was still able to sit down with a pencil in my hand and a thought in my head that could take me as far away from where I was as I could get. My joy was found in the escape.”
This week over at the podcast, we're reflecting on spring, new beginnings, and why it's important to appreciate where we are, today, without looking too far ahead. Also, this present age's gluttonous obsession with approval. And where we're seeing signs of hope in our own creative journeys.
I’m a little late to the game but really enjoying this documentary.
